Geography – curriculum information

Our vision, at Broadacre, is to create geographers of the future. We aim to give children a sense of the world around them and pique their curiosity for places and people. Our well-planned curriculum engages pupils to learn about the world in which they live.

We will provide all pupils with an array of enriching opportunities so they will be well-equipped with the skills and the knowledge to explore the world around them, ensuring that they have a greater understanding of their planet. A high quality geography education inspires in pupils a curiosity and fascination about the world that will remain with them for the rest of their lives.

As geographers, children at Broadacre will:

  • Experience a wide range of experiences, including local area visits, to develop fieldwork skills and their awareness of the area.
  • Develop their geographical enquiry skills in lessons through the use of resources such as atlases and maps.
  • Deepen their understanding of physical and human geography, and broaden their knowledge of places, people and the environment.
