Science – curriculum information

Our vision, at Broadacre, is to create scientists of the future. The children will be enthused by a stimulating, hands-on, knowledge-based curriculum that relates to the world around them, providing opportunities to work with science professionals and educators.

Children will become scientifically literate and encouraged and empowered to ask questions; take part in purposeful discussions and explore the boundaries of what they already know.

As Scientists, children at Broadacre will:

  • Learn from science professionals in education and industry, making links to their own lives.
  • Initiate, explore, plan and develop their ideas through open ended investigations and ‘hands on’ learning.
  • Ask questions and take part in purposeful discussions.
  • Develop their knowledge and understanding based on scientific facts that are built upon year after year.
